Dr. Silke Rinkwitz:

My experience in medical communications has a solid scientific foundation: a PhD in Cell and Molecular Biology, a medical assistant degree, and a university degree with a focus on microbiology and biochemistry. I stayed in science and led research groups and taught students. I have built a strong expertise in genetic and infectious diseases, human anatomy, immunology, cancer, brain functions and mental health, and learned and practiced the craftmanship of publishing. My research topics were neurogenetics, RNA therapies, transgenic cellular techniques including viruses, genomics, obesity, and neurodegenerative diseases. I have been at world-class institutions such as NYU Medical School and the University of Sydney.

 

Stepping into medical communications I gained valuable experience with clinical studies in a Contract Research Organisation and in producing systematic literature reviews for the industry. Through publication management and medical communication at a global pharmaceutical company I have gained further industrial experience and the expertise in treating oncological and immunological diseases.

 

This combination of experience, knowledge and expertise enables me to bridge scientific depth with health insurers and industry needs. On the one hand, I extract medical evidence from scientific original literature and provide recommendations for actions, and on the other hand I translate complex science into clear, precise, and compliant communications that support my clients’ goals.​​​
